Why won't children who need sleep go to sleep? Why will they ask for Bunny Boo and blankets instead of just lying down? And then wake up at 6 and refuse to nap? OR Wake up and 6 and take a nap which makes them fall asleep later at night?

Is it to test your sanity? Perhaps they are trying to erode all your willpower and strength before they become teenager and start demanding large allowances and cars. If you're already worn down, you'll be willing to give them anything for 5 minutes of peace.

I'm deeply shocked to read about this problem.

Is not emano using the 1-2-3 Magic system ... which she did say was indeed "magic".

Did the magic fade away?

No need to feel shock. I still use it and it is magical, but it doesn't do much good to put her in time-out in her room when she's in her room already. Actually, we let her sleep with her door open unless she comes out of her room (and, say, smears makeup on the bathroom counter), in which case it gets shut. THAT'S when the problems begin because she begins to yell "Open it! I want to get out! Open, open, open!"

It's not every night, but it is still entirely possible that she is indeed setting the stage for later years, biped. She is a wily girl.
